WE GOT A BREAKING NEWS ALERT!!!! The storm prediction center has issued a Moderate risk for severe weather for most of Iowa, southeastern Minnesota, and the Southwestern tip of Wisconsin. A 135+ kt jet at 18,000 feet along with a 90 kt jet will increase airmass moisture response with warm air amid moist advection across the MDT risk area. The biggest concern will be 90+ mph Damaging wind gusts with a few tornadoes that at least 1 maybe long tracked and very fast-moving amid 80 kt storm motion vectors, this is due to some strong winds veering through the 0-1 km that will increase 0-1 km SRH up to 300 to 400 m2/s2 so a few organized fast-moving embedded supercells within a bowing QLCS will foster brif spinups, Damaging 90+ mph winds and large hail. It’s a very slight possibility that at least 1 supercell may fire in the free warm sector right ahead of the QLCS witch would yield a more significant tornado threat.
