ILLINOIS: Strong to severe storms erupted across the area amidst a multi-day heat wave impacted much of the nation. Most of the storms were under severe limits, but a downburst hit near Bentley IL and produced wind gusts over 60 mph at times creating low visibility and temporarily restricting traffic. Much of the area is also reeling from excessive rainfall and flooding after a very wet spring and summer.
