Betty Marion White Ludden was born on January 17, 1922, to Christine Tess and Horace Logan White in Oak Park, Illinois. When Betty was two, her family moved to Los Angeles. She began her television career in the late 1930s, only three months after graduating from high school. In the 1950s, Betty became the first woman producer in Hollywood with the Life with Elizabeth, a show that Geoge Tibbles wrote and Betty produced. Fame came knocking on her door with The Mary Tyler Moore Show, in which she played one of the most memorable TV characters of all time, Sue Ann Nivens.
A few years later, during the 80s, Betty established herself as a power performer by taking on the role of Rose Nylund in one of the most popular sitcoms of the decade The Golden Girls. She continued her successful run through the 80s and 90s and in 2010, joined the cast of Hot in Cleveland. The same year, Betty also became the oldest person to host Saturday Night Live. Between 2012 and 2017, she starred on Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, for which she won an Emmy nomination. She was last seen, or rather heard, in Toy Story 4. Betty White is a legend — her career spans 8 long decades. The actress has been included into the Television Hall of Fame and is one of the most loved and adored celebrities of all time.
