Oscar-winning actor William Hurt has died at the age of 71.

Mr Hurt won the best actor Oscar in 1985 for his role in Kiss of the Spider Woman.

He died of natural causes.

In 2018, he revealed he had been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer which had spread to the bone.
