Bernard Cribbins, 92, has shared the news his wife Gillian died earlier today.
The actor and comedian has been on screens for more than 70 years and is well known for appearing in Doctor Who, as well as the Carry On series and The Railway Children.

Bernard had been married to his wife since 1955 and they lived together in Surrey.
The actor shared the news Gillian had died earlier today via writer James Hogg.
He wrote on Twitter earlier today: “Bernard Cribbins has asked me to announce that his wife Gillian passed away earlier today.
“They were married in 1955 and were devoted to each other.”

James then added: “When chatting about their wedding day for his autobiography he talked for hours and didn’t want the conversation to end.
