When it comes to ensuring your furry companion’s well-being, providing them with a comfortable and supportive place to rest is essential. That’s where orthopedic dog beds come into play. These specialized beds are designed to cater to the unique needs of our canine friends, addressing common health issues like arthritis, joint pain, and muscle stiffness. Crafted with memory foam, orthopedic dog beds conform to your pup’s body, relieving pressure points and promoting restorative sleep.
1. Amazon Basics
Amazon Basics Orthopedic Gel Foam Dog Bed has a removable cover and is three inches thick. It can fit larger dogs and costs $38.60.
One reviewer said, “I love this bed!! So many dog beds are advertised as orthopedic when in reality they are not. I am picky and only want the best for my dog and this passed the test. I got this for an elderly boxer with severe arthritis and mobility issues. He’s 85 pounds and this gives him room to stretch out and be comfortable. He’s needs his space and in his last days so I want to make sure he has the best. When he stands on it, it doesn’t get pushed all the way down to the floor so this tells me it’s supportive enough to hold him and not be hard on his joints. I laid on this myself to test it out and see how it feels, it’s firm but not overly firm and very comfortable. I recommend anyone with large dogs to make sure they have supportive quality beds all of their lives to avoid having problems when they are older but it’s a must for older dogs that already have mobility issues. The cover is soft and fits tight but is somehow still easy to put on. This compares with the big barker bed I have that cost significantly more.”
2. Bedsure
Bedsure Orthopedic Dog Bed is perfect for medium dogs and has a waterproof lining, nonskid bottom, and a washable cover. It does come in many sizes and colors, including Candy Cane! It costs $33.99.
One reviewer said, “Even tho we have had other Bedsure pet beds in the past, I actually ordered another brand of bed for our larger dog. The reason I did was because comments were made in the reviews of this bed that the bolsters were not removable for washing. I received the other brand of bed, let it air out for over two days (as recommended) and it still had a horrible chemical smell! That cannot be good for our furbabies! If I couldn’t lay my head on something and be comfortable I would not expect my furbabies to sleep on it! Needless to say, I returned the stinky bed and ordered this bed in the large plus size. Lesson learned!!! This bed arrived today and I was very pleasantly surprised that the bolsters were packaged separately, as well as the mattress and cover, so it CAN be completely disassembled for washing! And it has absolutely no stinky smell!!! If you are hesitant to order this bed because of reviews stating the cover has to be washed with the bolsters inside, that is absolutely not true! At least not with the large plus size. I have also ordered a small size of the same bed for my small dog, which has not arrived yet. I will post a review on it, if by chance it’s not designed the same, with removable bolsters. I’m sure my girls will get a lot of use from their new beds and “mom” will be much happier with the ease of keeping them clean. Thank you for a great pet bed!!!”
3. Kudoggy
Kudoggy Large Dog Bed has L-shape bolsters, memory foam, and a washable cover. It costs $39.99.
Tanya said, “No dislikes. Was better than anticipated. My dogs love it too! So good for them esp at 12 years old.”
4. Western Home Store
Western Home Large Orthopedic Dog Bed comes in 6 sizes and 3 colors. It is waterproof and has a non-slip bottom. It costs $32.99.
Denise said, “The bed is HUGE and very hard to unzip & zip together to clean. It came with a very strong plastic smell and honestly, my dog shredded the whole thing up within a day. It’s very soft with its cushion but would not recommend it if your dog is not used to this. It’s a bit on the stiff side.”
5. EHEYCIGA
EHEYCIGA Memory Foam Orthopedic Dog Bed has foam bolsters, a durable zipper, and a waterproof layer. It costs $40.99.
Juliann P. said, “We bought two beds & this one was the less expensive option, but we liked the edge around the bed so we decided to give it a try. This bed is amazing!! Some beds look thick, but arnt firm. This bed is both thick & firm enough that my heavy dog does not sink to the floor lying on it. It’s even bigger than the more expensive bed & after letting it fully rest after coming out of the box, the bed looks great in our home. TIP: Wrap the foam insert in a mattress protector to help keep the life of the foam good. Our dog has bladder stones so having the protector helps us with any accidents.”
6. OhGeni
OhGeni Orthopedic Dog Bed has egg foam Support, a removable cover, and a non-slip bottom. It comes in three sizes and two colors! It costs $52.99.
One reviewer said, “First of all, I would like to say the sellers/developers of this Dog Bed have treated me as a customer as a truly valued, customer, and a person, highly concerned with my Senior Service Dog being able to receive a luxurious orthopedic bed for her 16+-year-old ( human years) body. OH, THIS BED!!! WE LOVE IT! My Angel pupper needs to have areas to rest that provide comfort for her aging little body. She NEVER asks for anything, she just gives love and care. This bed already has the bolster portions inside of a top zipper cover, which means all you have to do is to insert the microfoam mattress section into the easy-access lower zipper compartment.”
7. Casper
Made with the same technology as human-sized Casper mattresses, the Casper Dog Bed is soft and comfortable. It comes in eight different sizes and 4 colors. The medium size costs $152.00.
One reviewer said, ” I bought this fantastic bed for my elderly greyhound and she loved it, especially for its memory foam that contoured to her skinny body so she was able to lie in one position longer. I only wished I had thought about it earlier.
9. Furhaven
Furhaven Orthopedic Dog Bed is already listed above, but instead of the bolster, this is a flat mattress! It comes in 11 colors and costs $66.99.
Brianna said, “I have 2 Labrador retrievers and they are each 100lbs. I go the XL bed and while it’s a little too big for my living space, the smaller size might be a little too small to fit my whole dog. It’s a personal preference which size would work best in your space. I really like the color, material, and shape of this bed. My dogs love the arched edges and look very comfortable when they’re in it. They are also raised nicely off the floor. My dogs don’t chew things up, so I can’t say it’s chewproof but it’s very soft yet sturdy and easy to clean. We simply unzip.”
10. KIYUMI
KIYUMI Dog Bed is waterproof and shaped like a couch. It costs $22.99.
Nik said, “These are great. ordered 3 for our dogs 52-75lbs each. you really can’t beat the quality of these beds for the price. The bumper inserts are solid foam and easily removed. So glad it’s not that awful brown stuffing most beds use. Our dogs don’t chew on beds, but they do scratch and circle before they lay down. It has held up very well so far.”

From alleviating pain and offering superior joint support to improving sleep quality, preventing health issues, and providing longevity and easy maintenance, these beds offer a myriad of advantages that go beyond mere comfort.
