When you are going away for a short break or a family holiday, you know that it is also important to look after your furry friends too! Have complete peace of mind when you book with me.. βΊοΈ
I have over 6 years experience with cat handling, having got 9 of my own – many of which came to me as rescues (some with behavioural and ongoing medical issues) and now you wouldn’t even know from seeing them!
My absolute pride cats are Logan (who is a reformed farmcat), Tatiana (a feral with a lot of ongoing skin issues, but now loves nothing better than a lovely bug cuddle) and Heimdall (a rescue who was subjected to horrific trauma in his first home π). You genuinely wouldn’t be able to tell their backgrounds – they are all happy to lap up the attention and belly rubs! The key to keeping my cats happy is a core understanding of cat body language and mannerisms – something a lot of owners don’t always pick up on! So rest assured – I will know when your cat is wanting to play, or snuggle!
My Monday to Friday is as a Building Surveyor, but my full-time job and real passion is my moggies – most of whom are rescues!
I love finding their favourite scritchy spots, and making them purr all night long ^_^
They all know the sound of my car – so when I return after a day of work, they all gather round and I feel like the Pied Cat Piper of Yorkshire!
There is nothing more that I enjoy than to play with and watch my kitties frolic with eachother, it absolutely melts my heart!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – please read before making a booking
Why are my fees so high for a relatively quick job you might ask?
Good question! These costs factor in my insurance, travel costs and kitty care for my own kitties on an overnight booking! Before your first booking, we will arrange a date and time suitable for you a few days prior to the actual visit so we can discuss your cat’s personal preferences, medical requirements, and of course safety procedures for your house – all of this adds up to complete peace of mind for you whilst you relax and enjoy your holiday βΊοΈ I will also endeavour to provide you with photo and email/text updates so you know that your beloved friend is in safe hands – just try not to get too jealous of all of the fun they are having!
When does payment have to be made?
Payment for a booking must be made prior to the day before the first day of the booking in order to activate the insurance cover. If you pay in advance, the money will not actually leave your account until the day before the first day of your booking so please remember to bear this in mind as no-one wants to be caught short!
Why do you have to visit them at my house?
Another good question! When you go away, be it for a short while or a slightly extended period of time, this can cause stress to your furry friends as they do not understand where you have gone π Furthermore, changing their home environment during this period of time can cause undue stress, therefore it is in the best interests of all parties to minimise this! I also have quite a few cats myself, and it would be vastly unfair on them for me to keep introducing and removing different cats every day of the week π The aim of my service is to try and keep all stress to your pets at an absolute minimum! π
What areas do I cover?
I predominantly cover the areas between Bradford and Halifax, however if I you are slightly outside of this area and need a sitter, I may be able to accommodate you. This is subject to if and where my other appointments are booked during that period (for example, if you are requesting for a visit in Headingley and I already have 2 other bookings in Halifax during that period it will not be feasible for me to accept this booking as I will not have the time to deliver your full requirements).
What hours do you visit?
Depending on location, a morning visit will normally be between 7:30-8am on a weekday (if you are situated close to either my home or where I work predominantly), and evening visits will tend to be between 5:30-8:30, again depending upon your location and also my other commitments during the day. Weekend hours will vary, as I work very long hours in the week along with a part-time degreee at uni, therefore I do try to have at least one lie in! If you have any specific requirements, please let me know ahead of the booking and I shall let you know if I can accommodate your requests.
If you would like to see the dates that I am currently available, please keep checking via my page as this will always show my most up to date availability.
Please note that Bank Holiday prices will vary from my regular prices due to increased demand and also personal plans on these days.
If you have a booking and want to see your kitty on social media, please like Kitty Poppins – Kitty and Critter Sitter on Facebook π I will also use this platform to share fun tips and cute videos βΊοΈ
I am a very chilled out down to earth person, feel free to ask me anything you want at any time π
I can’t wait to meet your furry friends ^_^
