Recorded live on November 17, 2021, watch the Online Finale celebrating the conclusion of Hamilton Reads 2021.
Tune in as Canadian author, Catherine Bush, discusses her novel, Blaze Island, the 2021 Hamilton Reads title, with Canadian television and radio journalist, Laura Lynch.
Blaze Island is an ecological thriller about climate change, and is inspired from Shakespeare’s The Tempest. A Category 5 hurricane devastates the eastern seaboard of North America, and characters Miranda and her father, Alan, escape to a cove in Canada’s Maritimes. Their lives are then turned upside down.
Bush has written in total five books including Minus Time (1993), The Rules of Engagement (2000), Claire’s Head (2004), and Accusation (2013).
Hamilton Reads includes online concerts, author visits, programs, book clubs and more. Blaze Island is currently available as a book and eBook. An eAudiobook is available, via OverDrive. Borrow with a library card or sign up online for an eCard:
