I’m not gonna lie, I don’t have much in store for the blog agenda this week. It’s just been one of those weeks where the to-do list seems extra long, and I’m not motivated to do “extra stuff” during my free time. We’ve started getting materials together to start packing. We even got the keys to our storage unit over the weekend. I guess this move is really happening! We have a little less than 3 weeks before we get the keys to our apartment and then its GO TIME! I’m not looking forward to moving our stuff up 3 stories and down a long hallway, but I know I’ll feel refreshed and more organized than ever when it’s all over with.
In the mean time, I’ve been drooling over various decorating ideas. My recent obsession? Dog Bunk Beds! I’ve been tripping, kicking, moving, and hiding dog beds a lot this month. They’re hairy and gross. They make vacuuming annoying. Quite frankly, they’re always in the way. I’m kind of sick of them. We don’t let our dogs on our furniture, so it’s the next best alternative. I’m almost embarrassed to admit how many of these we have laying around the house. Any guesses?…… 6! I have no idea how we ended up with so many. I’m gonna go ahead and blame Costco (in store) for selling huge, high quality dog beds for $25. Yes, you read that right. I had to snatch them up considering a small, cheap dog bed sells no less than $50 at any standard store. The good ones get up and over $100 easily. My dogs love their giant pillows!
The other week, I had the brilliant idea of consolidating some of them into….DOG BUNK BEDS! Turns out this is actually something that exists (why am I surprised?)! We won’t be doing this in our apartment, but I have high hopes this will be something we’ll do down the road in our next house. Did I just cross the crazy dog mom threshold?
Here are some of my favorites I’ve stumbled upon.
This actually looks like our dogs, and it’s creeping me out! I love the simple style and how their names are etched in the wood. It seems like something we could fairly easily build ourselves. I think it’s in need of a little ramp or steps though.
Another cute, simplified design.
This isn’t practical for our big dogs, but how adorable is this? Especially the curtains on the bottom half.
This is a little too modern and sophisticated for my taste, but I love the little staircase that’s off to the side.
Seriously? How are these dogs even supposed to get up that ladder? I hope their names are Tarzan and Jane.
Let be honest, I probably crossed the crazy dog mom line a long time ago. After all, I did start an Etsy store based on dog collars. Whether or not we actually end up building these is questionable, but a girl can dream right?
