TODAY’S GOSPEL: Mark 6:1-6, 16-18

The Gospel of Mark reminds us that Lent prepares us for the feast of our salvation. This penitential period allows us to open our hearts to the mystery of the Cross and Resurrection. As we open the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday, may we pray with discernment, so we can hear and see clearly what God wants us to do. May we fast to attain greater spiritual freedom. And may we dedicate ourselves to service as our act of charity.
