They created the band in Dallas, Texas, in the year 1989, and since then, they have performed a wide range of tunes, including bluegrass and western swing. They travelled in a pink Winnebago and sung songs like “San Antonio Rose” and “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” while they were on the road. They wore cowgirl clothing and sang songs like these. The year 1991 was their first performance at the Grand Ole Opry, and the year 1993 saw them perform at the inauguration of President Bill Clinton. Both of these events took place in the United States.

As a replacement for Lynch, Natalie Maines made the transition to the role of lead singer for the band. Subsequent to that, the Dixie Chicks made a change to their musical style, and they went on to become one of the most successful and controversial acts in the history of country music. In addition to that, she was very active in pursuing other interests, such as gardening and oil painting. Besides being a mother to two children and a grandmother to four grandchildren, she was also married to Steve Tull, who had previously held the position of state senator in the state of Texas.
