Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison with five years of supervised release, NBC News has learned. The 60-year-old former confidante to late Jeffrey Epstein was sentenced on Tuesday for recruiting and grooming underage teenage girls to be abused by Epstein. Federal prosecutors originally had been seeking a 30 to 55 year sentence for the British socialite.
