Harlem-born Harry Belafonte – the first solo artist to ever sell a million records and a popular actor in his own right, working alongside legends including Marlon Brando, Walter Matthau and Tony Curtis, has died in his New York City home aged 96.
One of only 23 entertainers to ever secure an EGOT, Harry Belafonte’s extensive civil rights activism shines just as brightly as his entertainment career as the world farewells a legend.
