Hurricane Ian has struck in the American state of Florida and has since been downgraded to a category three, with more than a million people across the state without access to power.

The people from Florida were given a warning and told to prepare ahead of time resulting in thousands of people in local shelters awaiting the storms passing.

Emergency services have been directed to stay off the city streets due to conditions becoming progressively more dangerous.
