Iker Casillas ‘comes out’ as gay as Carles Puyol shows support for Real Madrid legend

The former Spain goalkeeper made the announcement via social media on Sunday.

Iker Casillas appeared to become the latest high-profile footballing figure to come out as gay in a social media update on Sunday.

But after few hours his tweet has since been deleted with Spanish media speculating he and his former Spain teammate Carles Puyol were kidding around.

Then Iker Casillas apologises to LGBT community and claims he was ‘hacked’ after tweet coming out as gay.

The tweets quickly went viral and spawned media reports on what would have been the highest profile footballer to have ever publicly come out as gay.
