Inventing Anna is an upcoming American drama streaming television mini-series created and produced by Shonda Rhimes, based on the New York Magazine article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” by Jessica Pressler. The series is set to premiere on Netflix.

Its about How A journalist investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the Instagram-legendary heiress who stole the hearts — and money — of New York’s social elite.

In June 2018, it was announced Netflix and Shondaland had acquired the New York Magazine article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” by Jessica Pressler, turning it into a television series with Shonda Rhimes serving as producer and writer, alongside Betsy Beers. David Frankel will direct and executive produce two episodes of the series, including the first.

Principal photography began filming in October 2019.
