On the evening of December 8, 1980, John Lennon and Yoko Ono stepped out of a limousine by their apartment building. A man pulled out a gun and shot him in cold blood in the vestibule of the building. Police respond to the scene right away. When they saw the amount of blood coming from Lennon’s body, they knew they could not wait for an ambulance. They put him in the back of a police car and went directly to the hospital.
