Lewis Hamilton MBE (born 7 January 1985) is a British Formula One racing driver, currently racing for the Mercedes AMG team.
Lewis has since gone on to become one of the most recognised sportsmen in the world. Considered by many to be the fastest man on four wheels, his speed and natural flair for driving saw him become Formula One’s youngest ever World Champion at the age of 23.
Lewis started his racing career in 1993 when he was 8 years old and by the age of 10, he had won his first British Karting Championship. He went on to win a further four championships and by 13 years old he had signed with McLaren-Mercedes–Benz. He continued to win the British Formula Renault, Formula Three Euroseries, and GP2 Championships.
In his first Formula One season in 2007, Lewis finished second, just one point behind Kimi Räikkönen whilst collecting the record for most wins in a debut season. The following year he went on to win his first World Championship for McLaren.
