Aldi has brought a popular product back into stock to help your dog keep its cool this summer – and just in time for the bank holiday weekend, too.
The supermarket has re-introduced its bestselling Sunshade Dog Bed by Pet Collection in stores and online, much to the delight of shoppers. Available in either grey or khaki, the bed is priced at £19.99 and features a comfy bed with a build-in frame keeping it raised off the ground and a UV 50 protection canopy, so your pooch can enjoy the great outdoors while being protected from the sun.
Aldi announced the return of the favourite to its Specialbuys range on Friday over on its Instagram page, quickly leading to an outpouring of excitement among those with four-legged friends at home. Several shoppers said they “need to grab one”, with others saying that their dog would “love it”.

Last year the dog bed earned an overall rating of 4.7 out of five stars from nearly 400 Aldi shoppers, with 93% of people saying they would recommend buying it. Some shoppers said it was useful in all weathers to protect from wind and drizzle as well as the sun, while several cat owners also said their feline friends loved using it.
“My Yorkie loves this for cooling down after she sun bakes,” one customer wrote in their five-star review. “I move it round my garden to make sure it stays shady. Overall best purchase for keeping her cool.”
“Absolutely brilliant!” was someone else’s verdict. “My dog loves it – he uses it most days. I even bring it in the house when it’s warm so he’s raised off the floor and gets the breeze.”
A third impressed shopper said: “I bought this for my dog as she steals my sunbed. The best thing I have bought, the canopy has been perfect for this hot weather. Very easy to assemble.”
And another customer wrote: “My dog loves it – covers from the sun, sturdy, made easy to put together, nice colour – all round good item and well worth the money.”
The bed has received a small percentage of negative reviews from some shoppers, who mostly found that it was not quite robust enough to deal with their dogs’ sharp claws or teeth. “My puppy went on it for the first time and his claw went right through it,” one person complained.
Someone else said: “Got it set up, dog went on, his claw went straight through the material, now it’s ripped right across the centre of the bed.”
And a third shopper remarked: “The soft plastic joints/legs are easily chewed by our teething puppy. In a matter of minutes she’d mangled one and bits of plastic were starting to come away. The bed is not suited to a dog who chews.”
But if you’re thinking of snapping up the sunshade bed for your pup, it’s definitely worth shopping around before you buy – The Range is currently selling a similar version for less. What’s more, the
