Ellen welcomed her friend Nicole Avant, a producer of the critically acclaimed documentary “The Black Godfather,” which is all about her father, music executive Clarence Avant. Nicole explained how her father was the “OG influencer” who helped open doors for those who otherwise wouldn’t have had an opportunity to become successful. She also discussed the underlying message of unity in the film, and the famous stars who frequented her house while she was growing up.
