The K-pop band ASTRO’s lead vocalist Moonbin passed away on April 19, according to a statement from his management company, Fantagio Music. He was 25.
According to a statement posted in Korean on their social media, ASTRO member Moonbin “suddenly left us to become a star in the sky.” However, many stories have surfaced claiming that his manager discovered him dead in his Seoul apartment. According to reports, police are looking into the incident and wondering if it was an act of self-harm.
His management company made a statement expressing their profound sadness at the loss of their client, the artist.
No one knows what caused his death or how it happened.

Moonbin worn many different hats than that of a singer. His talents as a dancer, model, and actor were all top-notch.
Industry legend has it that Moonbin first entered the entertainment sector at a young age as a child model. His first public appearance was in a music video for the song “Balloons” in 2006. It wasn’t until the Korean drama “Boys Over Flowers” three years later that he made his acting debut.
When he joined the six-man boy band Astro in 2016, he gambled on becoming an overnight sensation. Between his time spent singing and performing on tour, he also tried his hand at acting.
His 2020 casting as the protagonist in the web series The Mermaid Prince is set in stone. ‘Find Me If You Can’ earned him the award for Best Supporting Actor in 2022.
