According to a statement that his family issued to PEOPLE on Monday, Bryan Randall, who had been Sandra Bullock’s lifetime companion, passed suddenly over the weekend. The statement was made public by his family. He was 57 years old.

In a statement sent by his family, they wrote, “It is with great sadness that we share the news that on August 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS.” “Bryan made the decision very early on to keep his journey with ALS private, and those of us who were there for him and cared about him did everything we could to honour his request,”

His family expressed their gratitude to the “tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.” His family added that they are “extremely grateful” to the “remarkable nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.” “We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the amazing nurses who became our roommates as well as the tireless doctors who helped us navigate the challenges posed by this illness.”

“At this time, we ask for privacy in order to grieve and come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan,” read the end of the message, which was signed “His Loving Family.”In January of 2015, when he was tasked with the responsibility of photographing Bullock’s son Louis’s birthday party, she was introduced to Randall for the very first time. Randall is a photographer who used to be a model. Bullock is 59 years old. Later on in the same year, they did activities together to bring more attention to their relationship, such as attending Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s wedding together. This helped make their relationship more public.Marriage was a topic of discussion that came up during Bullock’s appearance on Red Table Talk in December 2021. Bullock, who is already a mother to her son Louis, who is 13, and her daughter Laila, who is 10, already has two children of her own.
“I am overjoyed to announce that I have found the person who will finish me off. Together, we have two beautiful children, making a total of three when you consider the older daughter that [Randall] also has. When asked about it at the time, Bullock responded by saying that it was “the best thing ever.”

There are times when we don’t agree with one another; there are times when he doesn’t agree with what I say, and vice versa. But despite the fact that I don’t always agree with him, I still look up to him as a model.

She made this statement as she was giving the presentation. “I’m stubborn, but sometimes I need to sit back and listen and go, ‘You’re saying it differently but we mean exactly the same thing,'” she added. Co-parenting is difficult for me because I’d prefer do everything on my own than collaborate with another parent.

In lieu of conventional floral tributes, the family of Randall has asked for contributions to be made to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association and the Massachusetts General Hospital.
