Thunderstorms developed across northern Indiana just south of the Michigan border which went severe warned, primarily for 60mph wind gusts possible. The storms continued to grow in size and intensity. A rogue single cell with some hail developed to the south of the main batch so I went in for that one first. As the 2 cells merged, one began to rotate, and right at the surface beyond the trees I filmed 2 vortexes spinning with rapid upward motion. This may have been a brief spin up tornado or gustnado. I witnessed more rotation in the clouds, so I headed south but was blocked by a flooded road before getting overtaken by the core of the storm. I decided to intercept the core right there by the flooded road and fields and I was blasted with winds 55-60mph with some gusts potentially higher and very heavy rainfall and hail as well. Several storm cores dumped out onto me bringing with them high winds, I endured several minutes of this before driving north through more flooded roads only to get overtaken again by another storm core. A wild day in northern Indiana!
