Video of a severe thunderstorm line producing high winds, large hail, and heavy rain western Wisconsin on May 25th, 2021.
On May 25th, 2021, the Storm Prediction Center issued a slight risk for severe thunderstorms over much of western and northern Wisconsin. At around 4 PM CDT, storms began to fire on the WI/MN border, and a severe thunderstorm watch was issued.
We decided to intercept a line of intensifying thunderstorms headed towards Black River Falls, WI. The storms went severe warned shortly before arriving in our area, and brought high winds and some hail to the area. Widespread wind damage was reported in the county west of us, and some ping-pong ball sized (1.50in) hail was reported as well. A successful first chase of the year, hopefully there will be many more to come!!
