Popstar Shakira could spend up to eight years behind bars for alleged tax fraud.

The singer is accused of failing to pay more than $21 million in taxes to the Spanish government between 2012 to 2014.

She has rejected a plea deal – claiming she did not live in the country at the time of the alleged offence.
