US officials are tracking a suspected Chinese spy balloon making its way across the country.

In the days prior to Secretary of State Anthony Blicken’s diplomatic visit to Beijing, a passenger plane spotted the balloon.

The discovery of the balloon comes as the United States and the Philippines agreed to increase their military presence on the islands amid escalating tensions between China and Taiwan.
