TEDxEast INTERCONNECTIVITY – 11.11.10: -Segal/Dowse- My Son
In this riveting, humorous, but thought provoking two-women play about race and disability, a white woman (Shelly Segal) and a Black woman (Denise Dowse) are mothers who love their sons unconditionally—one son has autism, the other is African American. As the play unfolds, we learn how each mother provides her son with the tools to navigate in a U.S. society as well as their perceptions of the “the other”.
