His manager has released a statement confirming the death of Tom Sizemore, age of 61, the actor best known for his roles in Saving Private Ryan and The Relic.Thomas Edward Sizemore, actor, “died away quietly in his sleep tonight at St. Joseph’s Hospital Burbank,” his agent said. Representative Charles Lago added that Sizemore was surrounded by family, including his brother Paul and twin sons Jayden and Jagger, all of whom are 17 years old. A brain aneurysm occurred on February 18, and since then, Sizemore has been in a coma at the intensive care unit of the Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Los Angeles. On of the 28th of February, Lago revealed that the actor’s family had been advised by physicians that “there is no more hope.”
The physicians have advised his family that there is no longer any chance for recovery, and they have recommended an end-of-life decision,” Lago stated at the time. Deathbed decisions are currently being made by the family. Sizemore, who was born in Detroit in 1961, shot to fame in the 1990s and 2000s for playing strong guys in war and action movies. He had little parts in Point Break and True Romance, and he had major roles as a detective in the ultraviolent film Natural Born Killers and as a member of a heist gang in Heat.
Sizemore’s first major film role was as a police officer specifically, the film’s detective in the horror flick The Relic, in which a savage monster murders its way through a museum. When he was cast as Tom Hanks’ second-in-command in Saving Private Ryan, he had to bail on Terrence Malick’s war drama The Thin Red Line.
Subsequent film roles included parts in Black Hawk Down, Splinter, and Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House. Recent television roles for Sizemore include recurring parts on Robbery Homicide Division, Dr. Vegas, and the new version of Hawaii Five-0. In the 2017 third season of Twin Peaks, he played the role of insurance agent Anthony Sinclair.
Sizemore’s personal life was tumultuous, leading to him gaining a reputation for violence and substance abuse. Domestic violence and criminal threats against his then-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss landed him a six-month prison sentence in 2003, and a second conviction for domestic abuse in 2017 resulted in a three-year probationary period. Sizemore was married to Maeve Quinlan from 1996 to 1999 the couple has two children. Sizemore has a history of drug abuse and was sentenced to 16 months in prison in 2007 for possession of methamphetamine.
