Tucker Carlson and Fox News have agreed to part ways, the media company said in a statement on Monday, less than a week after Fox News and parent company Fox Corp FOXA.O settled a defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems over the station’s 2020 election coverage.

The outspoken news personality previously was a host of Fox News Channel’s cable news program, Tucker Carlson Tonight, which launched in November 2016, and consistently made headlines for his controversial approach to coverage.

Meanwhile, just minutes after the announcement of Carlson’s departure, CNN’s Don Lemon tweeted that he had been fired from the cable television network after 17 years.
