The Biden Administration is strongly condemning the arrest of American citizen and Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich in Russia. State department officals are actively trying to secure his release after Russia’s intelligence agency, the FSB, detained him on alleged espionage charges. The Kremlin claims Gershkovich was “caught red handed” while allegedly collecting state secrets on Russia’s military industrial complex. The 31-year-old reporter pleaded not guilty during a court appearance Thursday.
