After a six-month delay, the opening ceremony of the 31st Southeast Asian Games will be held later this week in Hanoi. Host country Vietnam postponed the regional sporting event last year due to the COVID-19. Now, the country is aiming high, not just for the medal tally, but also in hope of boosting the recovery of its battered tourism industry. A highlight of any SEA Games event, an hour-long opening ceremony this year promises to be a celebration of friendship and rich cultures in Southeast Asia.
