First, he became its largest shareholder. Then he agreed to sit on its board, before quickly withdrawing. Now Elon Musk, the CEO and co-founder of both Tesla and SpaceX, is offering US$43 billion to buy Twitter.
In what he called his “best and final offer,” Musk proposed to buy Twitter at a premium, and take the company private. He also threatened to sell his existing 10 per cent stake if he doesn’t get his way. The world’s richest man says he can “unlock” the site’s “extraordinary potential.”
